Selected activities open to public

  1. Friday, October 13, 7-9 pm Room 221, Kerrisdale Community Centre. 5851 West Boulevard, Vancouver. Music, short talk, visual aid about life of Baha'u'llah, refreshments. Open to public, RSVP preferred.

  2. Saturday, October 14, 4-7:30 pm Auditorium at Marpole-Oakridge Community Centre 990 West 59th Avenue, Vancouver Music, short talk, visual aid about life of Baha'u'llah, refreshments Open to public.

  3. Saturday, October 21, 10:00 am - 11:50 pm Dunbar Theatre 4555 Dunbar Street, Vancouver Premier showing of "Light to the World," the documentary movie about Baha'u'llah OPEN TO PUBLIC, free tickets can be obtained by emailing Arman Imani.

  4. Birth of Baha'u'llah Saturday, October 21st, 7:00 pm University Women's Club at Hycroft 1489 McRae Avenue, Vancouver Great program infused with music, art, dramatic reading, etc. Refreshments will be served

  5. Sunday, October 22, 1:00 - 2:30 pm, 3:00-4:30 pm, and 5:00-6:30 pm (Three separate, but same, programs) Bolbolan's Home 5516 Cypress Street (and W. 39th Ave.) Each session will start with refreshments, a short video presentation about Baha'u'llah and a short talk. OPEN TO PUBLIC

  6. Birth of Bahá'u'lláh celebration Saturday, October 21 Creekside Community Centre – Room MP4 6:45 PM – 9:30 PM Refreshments and live music (instrumental and choral) will follow a program of prayers and devotions in honour of this day and the first two centuries of Bahá'u'lláh's influence upon the world. Please note that seating is limited. When seats are full, doors will be closed. (OPEN TO THE PUBLIC)

  7. Strathcona Celebration Friday, October 20, 2017 Ukrainian Hall Inviting community members to participate, families of participants in children’s classes and junior youth groups from the Strathcona neighbourhood

  8. Unity Feast Saturday, October 21, 2017 Aboriginal Friendship Centre Gymansium Feast for friends from First Nations families in neighbourhood, food and song and dance, with contributions from friends and groups in the area, and contributions from local Nations whose land we are living on. Welcome and MC by Lee Brown and sharing from different local dignitaries.

  9. Birth of Bahá’u’lláh Celebration Sunday, October 22, 2017 Open Exhibition: 11:00 am – 4:00 pm Program followed by dinner: 4:00 pm Ukranian Cultural Centre Open exhibition will invite friends and neighbours to learn about life of Baha’u’llah and visit with community members, program in afternoon has involved inviting different cultural groups to perform dances and songs

  10. SCREENING OF "LIGHT TO THE WORLD" Two screenings of the film will be held at 5:30pm and 7:30pm on Monday, October 30th. Friends who currently serve in various teams across Commercial Drive, are encouraged to invite their friends and contacts from the wider community. Obtain tickets here.

  12. Saturday, October 21, 2017 5:00-7:00 pm Vancouver Public Library Alice MacKay Room Exploring Solutions in Turbulent Times Panel Discussion featuring speakers from a variety of communities across Vancouver exploring social issues and spiritual solutions. OPEN TO PUBLIC

The Bahá’ís of Vancouver come from all backgrounds and walks of life. We are united by the teachings of Bahá’u’lláh, the Founder of the Bahá’í Faith: that there is one God, one human race, and one evolving religion. Bahá’ís see humanity as a single people who live in a shared world and a one common destiny; “the earth is but one country, and mankind its citizens.”
